How Our Legacy Began

 

As you make your way to our dealership to purchase the vehicle of our dreams, allow us to take you back to where it all started. The Millsboro Automart journey began in 1987, when Preston Automotive Group (PAG) added us as its second store. Although it was a standalone used car lot, it became the first location in Delaware. It was an exciting time for PAG, as this was Founder David Wilson Sr.’s first expansion in the automotive market. Our dealership slowly gained momentum, and clients started calling us “MAM,” and then evolved into “YES MAM,” for new and regular customers alike. Wilson really built the Millsboro culture around saying, “YES!” to all guests. 

 

Like Father Like Son

 

“My fondest early moment was when I pulled up and saw a Tri Gas & Oil truck with a great big propane tank on it. Their competitor’s tank was being removed, and the 'TG' and 'O' tank was replacing it. I didn’t ask Tri Gas to change it, so I called my dad to ask if he knew anything about it,” Wilson said. “My dad (the late Howard G. Wilson) was the Vice President of Tri Gas.”

 

 

Wilson said that his father told him he would not be burning the propane of a competitor. Then, Wilson let his father know that he does not have anything to do with Millsboro. Howard G. Wilson then informed his son that Tri Gas was going to be the new supplier of propane, and he called the competitor to let them know that Tri Gas was going to take over.

 

“I smiled at myself that day and thanked my dad,” Dave Wilson Sr. said “In 2014, we finally built a new facility at Millsboro. We thought it was only fitting to honor my dad. During the dedication, I kept thinking back to that call in 1987.”

 

 

Your Premier CDJR Destination in Delaware

 

PAG started the Preston Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram franchise in the Millsboro Automart building while their CDJR building was being built next door. In 2018, they moved into the new building, and since then, #GetFrogged Customs has been using it as their temporary home. It is now a premier Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram destination in DE, and offers a wide selection of new and pre-owned models to choose from. Moving forward, the Millsboro Automart building will be used in a variety of ways, but will always be known as a special place for the Preston Automotive Group family.
